Abstract

Under a qualitative view, the objective of the research is to analyze the link between the student's perception of the purpose of the task for learning and the adoption of learning approaches in the university setting. As a research strategy, an instrumental case study is developed, with a group of 19 students, with observation and the semi-structured interview as an instrument for data collection. Stability in deep and shallow focus is found in two groups of students regardless of task. A third group is vulnerable to the didactic context, influenced mainly by the ways of being a teacher and the design of the task, being key factors flexibility in decision-making at a cognitive and social level, as well as the affectivity achieved by the teacher.
