Abstract

The university, being a historical institution, has a pyramidal form of organization that has left little margin for the assurance of its internal processes in terms of constant improvement. Currently, society demands new relationships with knowledge and conflicts reignite imbalances continuously. There is no doubt that a university, being a particular type of organization requires multiple dimensions of analysis. In consequence, to what extent can organizational analysis contribute to improving university management in the 21st century? and what are the key elements of organizational analysis to promote leadership and university management? In conclusion, knowledge is the only asset that grows over time and does not wear out but can disappear with people, if it is not shared; that is why it is vital to lead and manage it, in any size of university.
