Abstract

Mentoring talents offers meaningful experiences and meets special educational needs. The study analyzed the perception of 25 (F = 13) 8th and 9th grade students, identified by teachers as talented, about their interest in participating in a talent mentoring program. A Talent Identification Scale and a questionnaire were used. It was noticed that the participants recognize themselves as talented (42%); would appreciate having a mentor (45%); feel motivated when their talent is recognized (39%) and believe that their academic performance would be even better if they participated in a mentoring program (54%). It concludes that
